Inspired by the blockbuster 'insurance pool' idea from President Obama and our own PM Modi Maama, the Oriental Insurance Company (OIC) has come up with a unique insurance scheme for Delhiites.

From the way the election campaigns are shaping up, pundits are predicting a government that is going to be at war with the people of Delhi. Some have even advised Delhi residents to explore Heli-pooling as the roads are expected to be occupied by hordes of the new government functionaries - sitting on dharna of course.

Analysing all these data, the actuaries at OIC have identified a huge market of potential subscribers in the form of highly anxious, worn-out, gullible voters of Delhi. The term of the insurance policy is expected to last 49 days only as data strongly suggest that, that is going to be the lifetime of the new government. However, the insurance premium to be set as low as Rs 420 initially, is to increase geometrically and shall be automatically debited in case the government stays in office beyond the first 49 days. Each term for subsequent policies are also to be maintained at 49 days.

The policy shall cover mid-night raids by ministers, loss in business and office hours due to dharnas and hartals, sudden increase in charges for generator fuel and invertor batteries, health problems due to sudden increase in decibel levels on television and streets.

Initial pre-launch surveys have indicated a huge appetite for the policy, as the antics of the previous government are still very fresh in the memory of most Delhiites. A voter this reporter met 'Shri Mani Bechara',  lamented that he would have loved to subscribe to such a policy the last time around too. He also indicated that he was too risk averse and was looking to enroll all his extended family members into the policy.

Needless to say, PM Modi-Maama has been pleased with this out-of-the-box scheme and has invited the Chairman of OIC for a Chai pe Charcha.
